Moviegoers are expected to increase their numbers to 123.6 million in 1987, up 8.5% over last year, based on a survey conducted by Opinion Research Corp. Jack Valenti, president of the Motion Picture Assn. of America, cited the survey as one reason he is predicting record box-office revenue of $4.2 billion for 1987, up from $3.8 billion in 1986. Admissions increased 13.3% and admission prices rose 4.6% for the first nine months, Valenti said.
