Share

An Encino man arrested by detectives who had a robbery getaway car under surveillance has been connected to at least 10 robberies of businesses and five of banks in the western San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles police said Thursday.

Police said Jeffrey Boehr, 33, arrested on suspicion of robbery, was being held at the West Valley jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. Detective Ed Pikor said Boehr is suspected of having committed the robberies in the last month and a half, all near his apartment in the 18300 block of Burbank Boulevard.

Pikor said that, in a recent robbery of an Encino hair salon, the suspect ordered 16 employees and customers to lie on the floor while he cleaned out the cash register and robbed some of the victims.

Boehr’s arrest came after a witness to a robbery told police that the getaway car was a brown Datsun with a broken window. Police later saw a car matching that description parked at the Burbank Boulevard apartment complex, and Boehr was arrested without incident.
