COLLEGE FOOTBALL : Southland Roundup : Cal Lutheran Ends Bonds Era With Win
Tom Bonds had his last hurrah for Cal Lutheran Saturday.
Bonds, a four-year starter from Hart High in Newhall, didn’t finish with his customary big numbers but had enough to lead the Kingsmen to a 13-3 victory over St. Mary’s at Thousand Oaks.
Bonds, who completed 15 of 25 passes for 104 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown to tight end Mark Jones, is Cal Lutheran’s career passing leader with 7,773 yards and 56 touchdowns. He holds 11 other school records.
Bill Hawk added field goals of 33 and 25 yards for Cal Lutheran (5-6).
CS Northridge 21, CS Sacramento 16--Rob Huffman threw three touchdown passes to Keith Wright and the Matadors downed the Hornets at Northridge.
Huffman completed 15 of 31 attempts for 167 yards, including scoring passes of 24, 10 and 9 yards to Wright for the Matadors (7-4 overall, 4-2 in the Western Football Conference). Sacramento finished 4-7, 2-4.
