Bob Knight was given a standing ovation by Indiana University basketball boosters after saying he was wrong to pull his team off the floor in an exhibition game against the Soviet national team.

The Indiana coach did not mention the reprimand he received from IU President Thomas Ehrlich.

He said: “I made a mistake Saturday night, and no one can regret that mistake more than I do. I would appreciate each of those of you who has not made a mistake or two in the past 17 years to drop me a note in the morning.”
