Major revisions to Canada’s Criminal Code, currently moving through the legislative process, has the country’s show business community up in arms. Among proposed amendments: to make it illegal for any feature films or videos depicting a woman’s breast to be shown to anyone under 18 and to make it illegal to show or even simulate the sex act in any film or video no matter the age of potential viewers. The proposed changes are being vehemently opposed by a diverse coalition, ranging from film makers to librarians. They’ve formed the Community Against Censorship, representing 50 arts organizations.
