Pan Am Corp.’s board of directors met, reportedly to consider an offer by Braniff Inc. to buy Pan American World Airways, but adjourned with no announcement except to say that it would reconvene Monday . . . Golden West Financial Corp., an Oakland-based savings and loan holding company, announced that its board has authorized the repurchase of up to 3 million shares of common stock . . . The Investment Company Institute reported that the assets of the nation’s 411 money-market mutual funds fell $237.2 million, to $261.85 billion in the week ended Dec. 2 . . . Alaska Airlines, a subsidiary of Alaska Air Group, reported November revenue passenger miles of 238.6 million, a 48% increase from the 161.3 million flown a year earlier.
