Nominees are being sought for the 1988-89 San Diego County Grand Jury, which begins its term in July.

Each San Diego Superior and Municipal Court judge may nominate up to three people for a random drawing that will take place June 6. The names of 19 people will be picked to create the new jury.

Grand jurors serve primarily as watchdogs, examining all aspects of county government and the 18 cities within the county to ensure citizens are well served. Findings are contained in reports detailing problems and recommending solutions. Occasionally, the grand jury conducts criminal investigations.
