UC Irvine Women Win in Swimming, 112-105
Emily Wade had two first-place finishes to lead the undefeated UC Irvine women’s swimming team to a 112-105 victory over UC San Diego Tuesday at Heritage Park.
Wade won the 100-meter freestyle in 56.06 seconds and the 200 freestyle in 2:00.95. Lisa Williams also helped the Anteaters (3-0) with a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle (5:17.92) and contributed to the winning 400 freestyle relay team, which finished in 3:44.78. UCI’s Trishna Coleman led the diving competition with a first-place finish in the one-meter dive and a second-place finish on the three-meter board.
The UCI men’s team (2-2) finished second in a three-way meet with Tennessee and UCSD. Anteater Matt Wright finished first in the 100 freestyle (46.95) and second in the 50 freestyle (21.54), and teammate Brian Judd won the 500 freestyle (4:41.91).
