Dialing for Cash
I guess the only drawback to the 800-number that Gray Davis has come up with is that with 25 million Californians calling to find out if they’re entitled to any of that unclaimed cash (Part I, Dec. 8) is that it could take roughly (at 4 minutes a call) 190 years to get through. Even with Controller Davis’ assurance that one in 10 callers will collect, I’m just not sure I can spare the time.
