People who plan to fly out of town for the New Year’s holiday might do well to shop for airports. With some exceptions, local residents taking a plane from Los Angeles or Long Beach airports rather than from Orange County can save up to $312, depending on the destination and whether the flight is restricted. The following chart illustrates round-trip air fares to San Francisco, Las Vegas and Miami from area airports. The fares are hypothetical for departure Dec. 30, returning Jan. 3.
