One of San Diego’s top 10 fugitives and his girlfriend have been arrested in Nevada by the fugitive apprehension detail of the San Diego Police Department.

With assistance from the Narcotics Task Force and the FBI, the unit arrested Ronald Birdwell, 45, of San Diego, and his girlfriend Lynn Hurgos, 31, in Riviera, Nev., Monday on a narcotics warrant. Birdwell was on the Police Department’s fugitive list also for narcotic charges, said police spokesman Bill Robinson.

Arrested in San Diego by federal officers was Linn E. Higgenbothan, an alleged accomplice of Birdwell.

In Nevada, officers seized 11 pounds of methamphetamine, an operating methamphetamine lab, four Corvettes, one pickup truck, one motor home, 120 guns and five all-terrain vehicles, Robinson said. A condominium in San Diego was also seized under federal law.

Birdwell and Hurgos were in custody in Nevada on Tuesday awaiting extradition to San Diego, where they face narcotics charges, Robinson said.
