Concerts Listed for Pacific Serenades
The opening program of the second Pacific Serenades season features the world premiere of Mark Carlson’s Serenade No. 2, for flute, clarinet, violin and piano. The concert will be offered twice: Jan. 5 in a private home, and Jan. 6 at the Biltmore Hotel. The Clarinet Sonata by Brahms and Ravel’s A-minor Trio complete the agenda.
The three subsequent programs in the series follow the same format--performances in a private home followed by a public concert at the Biltmore, each with a new composition by a local composer. The next concert will be given by Marimolin, a violin/marimba duo, Feb. 23 and 24; on March 22 and 23 come clarinet quintets, and the series ends May 3 and 4 with a program by the Elgart/Yates Guitar Duo.
