Why Was This Story Put on Back Pages?
Thanks and kudos for an excellent, albeit short, interview with Bud Greenspan. What he had to say in a few comments concerning the way sports should be covered was worth more than all the clowns and would-be comics who call themselves sportscasters or journalists could say in a decade.
Why their dependence on jokes and highlights? They have nothing to say. In contrast, Mr. Greenspan’s perception of sports is to share its grace and glory, all while telling a story.
However, you proved his point about mediocre reporting by relegating his article to the back pages.
