Local News in Brief : Court Plan Advances

Plans to put a branch of the municipal court in Carson moved a step forward this week when court officials in Compton said they approved of the proposal by Carson officials.

The proposed facility would mean that Carson residents would no longer have to go to the crowded Compton Municipal Court for traffic violations, municipal code violations, small claims and civil matters.

Under arrangements discussed Monday with court officials, the City of Carson would pay for the facility and the court system would pay for operating it.
