Man, 31, Shot to Death on L.A. Street
A man was shot and killed Saturday as he walked down a South Los Angeles street but police had no suspects and could not determine a motive, officers said Sunday.
Officers found the body of Vincent Hooks, 31, in a parking lot behind an apartment complex at 11630 S. Town Ave., Lt. Jim Mateer said.
Neighbors reported hearing gunfire at about 9 p.m. Saturday, Mateer said. An unidentified person approached Hooks and shot him while walking near 166th Street and Town Avenue, he said.
Investigators did not know if Hooks’ body had been dumped in the parking lot or if he was shot and killed there, Mateer said.
