Trout the Best Bet Now, but Bigger Fish Are Available
With winter in full swing, most California anglers have turned to trout as their primary target, but a few are still trying for the bigger fish normally prevalent during the warmer months.
At Vail Lake in Riverside County, big catfish can still be caught, as proven by Gregg Silks of Alta Loma, who landed one weighing 18 pounds 5 ounces.
Meanwhile, San Bernardino resident Del East fished Lake Silverwood in San Bernardino County and brought in a 28 1/2-pound striped bass.
