Officer Faces Hearing
A 14-year Los Angeles Police Department veteran will face a Board of Rights hearing Wednesday on 11 counts of lewd conduct, some of them allegedly committed while in uniform, a police spokesman said.
Most of the charges involve early morning contacts that Officer Emanuel Valencia, 37, allegedly made with prostitutes in 1987 while working in the Central Traffic Division, Cmdr. William Booth said.
Valencia was suspended without pay on Oct. 31, Booth said.
