A 32-foot fishing boat, adrift at sea for five days and having expended its food and water supply, was being towed back to San Diego on Saturday, its three occupants apparently hungry but otherwise safe, the Coast Guard reported.

The Emilia K, with two men and a boy aboard, was found adrift with engine problems about 90 miles south of San Diego, 30 miles offshore, the Coast Guard said.

The fishing vessel Paula Ann came across the stricken boat and was towing it to San Diego, the Coast Guard said. It was expected to arrive this morning.

The passengers of the boat were unidentified but said to be residents of San Diego County.
