A Canadian Airlines International DC-10 carrying 268 people was evacuated at Edmonton International Airport after a bomb threat written on a piece of paper was found during the flight, which originated in Amsterdam and was bound for Vancouver, British Columbia. “The crew discovered a series of notes which, when put together, indicated a threat against the passengers and aircraft,” the airline said. The 255 passengers and 13 crew members were taken off the aircraft during a scheduled stop in Edmonton, Alberta, and questioned by police. Larry Filipek, a regional manager for the airline, said the plane was “quarantined” and was being electronically searched.
