Jury selection continued for a second day in the trial of former White House aide Lyn Nofziger, who is charged with four counts of conflict-of-interest violations in connection with his post-government lobbying. U.S. District Judge Thomas A. Flannery said he hopes to have a panel selected by Thursday. Lovida Coleman, an attorney with the independent counsel’s office, expressed concern that broadcast interviews with the ex-White House aide and his attorney on the first day of jury selection might hurt the effort to select an impartial jury.
