College Highlights : Hardman, Defense Lead Moorpark, 65-53

Share

Karina Hardman scored 26 points but it was the Moorpark defense that made the difference in a 65-53 victory over Bakersfield in a Western State Conference women’s basketball game Saturday at Moorpark.

Moorpark had 14 steals and used a full-court press to neutralize Bakersfield’s height advantage. “I think our press really hurt them,” Moorpark Coach Gary Abraham said. “We caused quite a few turnovers.”

Hardman finished with 26 points, the 12th consecutive game in which she has scored at least 20 points, and Michele Brown added 16 points and 5 assists.
