Pico Rivera : Senior Bus Passes Reduced
Starting next month, Pico Rivera will reduce the cost of RTD monthly bus passes from $4 to $1 for senior citizens and the handicapped.
The additional discount followed the City Council’s decision last month to increase its transit subsidy received from the half-cent Proposition A tax revenue collected in conjunction with the 6-cent state sales tax. The subsidy has been approved by the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission and will take effect Feb. 1.
The cheaper passes will go on sale Jan. 25 at the office of Housing and Community Development on the lower level of City Hall. Monthly bus passes for students will remain at $4.
