Two Compton youths who were taken into custody for questioning in the fatal shooting of a Carson man have been released, police said.
The suspects, both juveniles, were released Thursday after police said they were not the same youths suspected of robbing Cornelius Everett Wilson, 20, as he left a Compton liquor store on Monday with two companions, said Compton Detective Jack McConnell.
Wilson was shot about 15 minutes after the robbery as he drove his car on Kemp Avenue near Caldwell Avenue in search of the robbers, police said. Two youths shot at the car, hitting Wilson but not others in the car, McConnell said.
Wilson died at Dominguez Medical Center.
