Meanwhile, “You Can Do Something About AIDS,” a paperback of celeb how-to-get-involved advice from Elizabeth Taylor, Abigail (“Dear Abby”) Van Buren, Sen. Lowell Weicker (R-Conn.) and former White House press secretary Jody Powell, as well as by lesser-known AIDS authorities, is also in the works for June publication. It will be free to the public.

Contributions from the Book-of-the-Month Club and the American Booksellers Assn. and anticipated support from individual publishing houses (Harper & Row’s already on board) are covering costs for an initial 200,000 printing, according to Alyson Sascha, publisher of Boston’s gay/lesbian-oriented Alyson Publications, which is publishing the book.
