Lindy Infante, offensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns, will be named coach of the Green Bay Packers early next week unless Washington Redskins Coach Joe Gibbs wants the job, according to a story in today’s Milwaukee Journal.

The Journal, quoting a source on the Packer selection committee, said a third party told the Packers that Gibbs would be interested in talking about the job after the Super Bowl.

Tom Braatz, executive vice president of the Packers, refused comment on the story. Gibbs was not quoted in the story.

Infante was interviewed for a second time by Packer officials Saturday in Los Angeles. The Packer source said that Infante did not appear concerned that he was their second choice.
