Reagan’s State of the Union
It was all I could do to keep from becoming ill listening to the unctuous hypocrisy oozing from the TV set during the Democrats’ response to Reagan. To hear the congressional leaders heap all of the blame for the federal budget deficit on the President, after watching a recent C-Span telecast of the congressional night session in which the House Speaker pushed through his lard-ladened budget resolution, was just more than any mortal should have to stomach. This, following Congress’ disgraceful performance in trying to come up with a viable budget, which is, after all, its responsibility.
