Los Angeles police said Thursday they have identified a woman found beaten to death in a Canoga Park house last week.

Police said Lori Elm, 18, lived in the house in the 7500 block of Kentland Avenue with Robert Ray Burley, 26, and Mark Demand, 25. Elm and Burley were found slain in the house Jan. 27, police said.

Detectives said they interviewed Demand in an out-of-state jail. But they refused to name the location or disclose why he was being held.

Detectives said the Canoga Park killings apparently were drug-related. Neighbors reported that they had witnessed drug activities at the house, police said.

The victims had been dead at least a week when they were found by Burley’s brother, police said. Positive identification of Elm was made this week through dental records, police said.

Police said a car was taken from the Canoga Park home after the killings. The blue, 1983 Honda Civic, with the license number 2AQC214, is believed to still be in the San Fernando Valley, investigators said.
