Body Glove Captures Katin Surf Competition
Body Glove International defeated Rip Curl Sunday to win the team championship of the Katin Memorial Cup surfing competition north of the Huntington Beach Pier.
Body Glove International won two of three heats in the three-to-six foot surf. Team members Glenn Winton (Australia), Scott Baley (El Segundo), Charlie Kuhn (Florida) and Brian McNulty (Capistrano Beach) will divide the $4,000 first prize.
Rip Curl team members, John Parmenter (Huntington Beach), Todd Martin (Cardiff), Noah Budroe (Hawaii) and Simon Law (Australia) will split $2,000.
On Saturday, Dave Parmenter defeated Winton to win the individual championship.
