Drug Sweep Nets Students
Police swept through the campus of San Diego’s Hoover High School this morning, rounding up students implicated in narcotics sales during a three-month undercover investigation, authorities said.
Seventeen students at the school in east San Diego were named in warrants. Several were taken into custody as they arrived for classes and others were still being sought. Today’s raid ended the second drug investigation at Hoover High in four years. In January, 1984, 53 people were arrested after a similar operation in which a police officer posed as a student.
