The Topeka Sizzlers of the Continental Basketball...
The Topeka Sizzlers of the Continental Basketball Assn. have suspended Lloyd Daniels for the rest of the season because he failed to get into playing condition and had not participated in a drug rehabilitation program.
Daniels, 20, pleaded guilty last summer to a misdemeanor charge of attempting to possess cocaine. He voluntarily submitted to a drug test Jan. 28 and was placed on the injured list that day.
Bernie Glannon, Sizzler owner, said that he had not yet received results of the test, but he was concerned that Daniels had not attended appointments as part of a drug rehabilitation program at a Topeka hospital.
Daniels joined the Sizzlers after being a prize recruit at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and playing a few games at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut. At one point, Coach Jerry Tarkanian of UNLV had likened him to a future Magic Johnson.
