An Oakland area hospital accused of providing unsatisfactory nursing care services filed a lawsuit to try and prevent the state from moving out 40 MediCal patients Tuesday. St. Anne Convalescent Hospital in Castro Valley has asked the U.S. District Court to stop the state Department of Health Services from removing the patients. Hospital officials claim state officials were motivated by personal prejudice against the hospital administrator when they revoked on Jan. 15 the 48-bed hospital’s certification for handling federal and state patients. The state says the nursing care is below standard.
