Loved Beverly Beyer and Ed Rabey’s “Footloose in Ketchikan” (Jan. 24) but wished they had included its fabulous public library. The library’s wall of windows allows visitors to peek at the Creek as well as the majestic mountains. The reading room is cozy and comfortable and the selection of books is truly surprisingly good.

Federal and state grants allow the library to purchase the literary world’s best and brightest. The library also houses a charming art gallery, where an excellent collection of the artistry of Tlingits, Haidas and Tsimshians are cleverly displayed.
