Man Kills Self After Stabbing Girlfriend
A Grantville man killed himself early Sunday after stabbing his girlfriend, a San Diego police spokeswoman said.
Shortly before 6:20 a.m., a woman later identified as Barbara Theiss, of 4620 Zion Avenue, ran to her neighbor’s house and said that she had been stabbed by her boyfriend, 42-year-old Charles Werve, police said.
When police arrived at the apartment complex, they found Werve lying dead on the floor with an apparently self-inflicted stab wound to his chest. Police believe that Werve stabbed Theiss twice and then committed suicide when she left the apartment, the spokeswoman said.
Theiss later was treated for minor neck wounds, police said.
