All is forgiven, El Paso, Tex., Latino leaders assured members of Def Leppard on Monday. The British band had been virtually prohibited from performing in the border city since Def Leppard’s singer, Joe Elliott, referred to El Paso as “that place with all the greasy Mexicans” in 1983. But Fernando Chacon and Patrick Garcia, representing the League of United Latin American Citizens, said Elliott and the band were forgiven. “We believe Elliott’s apology was sincere and we want to get the ethnic slur incident behind us,” Garcia said.
