Share

Friday’s high winds fanned the flames of several Los Angeles-area fires early Friday. At least six blazes that left 60 people homeless and caused about $1.6 million in damage occurred in locations including Mt. Washington, East Los Angeles and La Canada Flintridge.

The gale-force gusts also contributed to one death, knocked out power to about 140,000 customers and forced the closure of a San Bernardino County school district.
