San Diego
Fifteen gamecocks that police believe were used in an illegal fighting ring were confiscated Friday, a police spokesman said.
No arrests were made, but detectives found the caged animals in the backyard of a house in the 4000 block of Marc Wade Drive in South San Diego Thursday, police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
Robinson said the department suspects the birds were used for fighting and illegal gambling. The animals were turned over to humane officers, said Robinson.
