The New York State Racing and Wagering Board revoked the license of one harness driver and suspended three others for allegedly not trying to win a race at Yonkers Raceway last November.
After reviewing the suspect race, hearing officer John Daily recommended confirmation of the charges against Henri Filion, Michael Lachance, Rene Poulin and Joe Marsh, Jr., who were all charged with lack of effort in the fourth race at Yonkers on Nov. 14, 1987. Charges against Filion were upgraded later, based on testimony concerning pre-race conversations he had with other drivers, and his license revoked.
