Billboard Firm’s Contributions
Regarding billboards in Anaheim, two statements tell it all: Pay the bill. Get the board.
To quote City Councilman William D. Ehrle: “It (the contribution) maybe ensures that you are going to give and issue a fair hearing.”
To quote Floyd Farano (attorney for Regency, regarding campaign contributions): “We give money to elect people whose philosophy coincides with our own. . . . At most it means that your calls are answered.”
Do I have to contribute to a campaign to “ensure that”:
My issue will get a fair hearing?
My phone calls will be answered?
The elected officials will consider my philosophical viewpoint?
They said it, I didn’t.
