Robin Williams has been selected by the American Cinematheque’s board of directors as guest of honor at its third annual Moving Picture Ball on May 7. The $250-per-ticket ball, described by a Cinematheque spokesperson as “a unique celebration of the popular aspects of film and television,” is expected to draw a heavy hitting crowd, considering its backers, such as ball chairman Michael Eisner, Walt Disney’s top gun, and Academy Award-winning director Sydney Pollack. Former ball honorees: Eddie Murphy and Bette Midler.
