Hamburger Hamlets Inc. and Weatherly Restaurant Group announced an agreement for Weatherly to buy all the common stock of Hamburger Hamlets for $9.20 a share in cash. The deal must still be approved approval by Hamburger Hamlets shareholders at a special meeting expected to be held in May. Hamburger Hamlets of Sherman Oaks operates a chain of 20 specialty restaurants in Southern California under the name Hamburger Hamlets. Weatherly is a recently formed affiliate of Weatherly Securities Inc., a New York-based securities firm.
