Del Mar
More than 2,000 gallons of sewage spilled into the San Dieguito River on Thursday morning after an electrical problem caused a pump station in Del Mar to overflow, county health officials said.
The Del Mar beach was closed for 100 yards on each side of where the river empties into the ocean, just west of the Del Mar Fairgrounds, and will be off limits for at least a day.
