General Automation, an Anaheim-based computer company, has named Donald W.S. Rutherford as chief financial officer, vice president-finance and treasurer. Rutherford replaces John D. Murray, who has resigned to form a management-consulting firm in Irvine. Rutherford had been a vice president of finance and administration with Micom Systems, a Simi Valley technology firm. General Automation said Murray will continue to work for the company on a consulting basis. The Anaheim firm also said Joseph Allen, vice president of corporate affairs, has resigned to join the consulting firm with Murray.
