A 14-year-old Studio City boy was arrested on suspicion of possessing explosives after police found a “bomb factory” in the boy’s bedroom, authorities said Saturday.

Los Angeles police officers, answering a disturbance report about 4:30 p.m., found explosive powder, chemicals used to make explosives, an Army explosives manual and an undisclosed amount of napalm in the home on Woodbridge Street, Lt. Richard Iddings said.

The boy’s name was not disclosed.

Iddings said the boy told police that he has “a fascination with bombs,” but that he has never used bombs to destroy property or commit terrorist acts. Napalm is a highly flammable gel that was used in the war in Vietnam.
