Share

A ground-breaking ceremony is expected to be held today, after rain forced cancellation last weekend, for the $1.5-million, 8,000-square-foot nature center building of the William O. Douglas Outdoor Classroom in the Santa Monica Mountains.

The facility, including an auditorium, was designed by George C. Hopkins Construction Co., Glendale, and is a development of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy.
