Parents of Abandoned Baby Identified
The parents of a baby boy found abandoned Saturday morning in the carport of a Hollywood apartment building have been identified, according to police.
A relative identified the 3- to 6-month-old boy Sunday, said Lt. Dan Watson. The infant was in the custody of county officials at the MacLaren Children’s Center in El Monte. Watson would not reveal the names of the boy or his parents.
Residents at 5553 Romaine St. called police about 8 a.m. Saturday morning when they found the baby, wearing a blue jacket, blue shirt and red pants, in an adjacent carport, Watson said.
Officers searched the immediate area, but could not find his parents, he said.
The infant “appeared to be healthy and well fed,” Watson said.
