Martin Ramirez, 19, of Sunland also was listed in serious condition.

The driver’s 18-year-old brother was treated for minor injuries and released.

The accident occurred about 4 a.m. when the driver’s 1965 Chevrolet Impala swerved to the right near Wheatland Avenue, hit a signpost and went 50 feet down an embankment and into a chain-link fence.

Keifer said the driver was going about 80 m.p.h. and was apparently intoxicated.
