Gasoline retail prices continued their decline, but barely, dropping just 0.35 cents between Feb. 19 and March 11, the smallest drop since November, the nationwide Lundberg Survey reported. The average price was 95.75 cents a gallon. “This drop was barely over one-third of a cent, and several indicators point to rising prices during the next few weeks if crude (oil) prices hold,” said analyst Trilby Lundberg. “The reasons we’ve been giving for a possible upward turn in consumer prices still hold.” They include firmer crude prices and a traditional increase in gasoline consumption in spring.
