Local News in Brief : Liberace Companion Held
A former Las Vegas dancer who sued entertainer Liberace for palimony was arraigned Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court on three felony robbery counts stemming from a holdup at a Los Angeles apartment Sept. 23.
Police said Scott Thorson, 29, who was arrested Feb. 3, had associated with members of the Van Ness Gangsters, a gang that staged a series of drug-related robberies, taking money and cocaine. In two of the robberies, women were raped and in one case a security guard was shot and wounded and a gang member killed.
Thorson was not a suspect in the rape or shooting cases, officers said. But a man charged with Thorson in the robbery, Bobby Ray Jordan, has been arrested in the other cases.
