Pasadena : Conference on Women

Judge Dorothy W. Nelson of the U. S. Court of Appeals will be the keynote speaker when the Pasadena Commission on the Status of Women holds its 11th annual Women’s Conference on Saturday in the Civic Center. The all-day event will focus on women’s personal and career development.

The conference is one of several events sponsored by the Women’s Month Committee of Pasadena City College. Yolanda Moses, dean of the School of Arts at Cal Poly Pomona, will speak at 11 a.m. today on “Toward a Global Sisterhood” in the college’s Forum.

Other events will include the Women’s Scholarship and Award Luncheon on March 24, honoring Ernestine Moore, dean of student services at PCC; a lecture and discussion on Afro-American women at noon March 29, and a talk by poet Denise Levertov at 7:30 p.m. March 30.
