Rollie Dotsch, who coached the Birmingham Stallions to two conference championships during the three years of the United States Football League, died in a Minnesota hospital after a 7 1/2-month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Dotsch, 57, was running backs coach for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League during the 1987 season. Born in Garden, Mich., he played guard at Michigan State for the late Duffy Daugherty and Biggie Munn. He played on the Spartans’ 1952 national championship team as an alternate, and was a starter the next year when they won the Big Ten championship and beat UCLA, 28-20, in the Rose Bowl.
